This 1990 built city centre dwelling has been transformed from a dark single-storey residence with two bedrooms, to a modern light- filled two-storey family home with four bedrooms. In addition, through the use of modern insulation methods and a state of the art Air-to-Water heat pump, the energy rating has been improved from an F to a B2 rating. The retention of the main structure as part of the retrofit ensured that nuisance in this tight pedestrianised area was minimised and most of the embodied energy in its initial construction was retained.
